Uncommon commons...who's your white whale?
Posted By: peter ullman
Since I'm not a set collector...this is not an issue for me...but...a ways back Tbob aquired this obak wolverton series 150 card to complete his set...and apparently he had a really hard time finding one. I have this card...but had no idea it was a tough card or that bob needed it otherwise I would have gladly traded it for a few e94's! I think Wolverton uses the same hair dye as eminem. What other cards out there are "uncommon commons" there must be bunches of zeenuts...1912 baker...cards most of us look at as "just commons" but to a set collector are elusive and coveted. let's avoid the obvious mainstream issues here. |

I saw in person a white (albino) crow. Snow white. It couldn't survive in the wild due to the lack of sunlight protecting pigment, and lived in captivity. It's owners taught it to speak words. Crows are ranked as the smartest bird, and have demonstrated the ability to make and use tools and even count. |

There was a famous case of a crow that had a nest in a barn, and wouldn't go in into the barn if it knew people where in there. To test the crow's ability to count, a scientist had people go in the barn, then later leave. The crow could tell when all the people had left. The key is the people entered and left in both different numbers and combinations (6 enter and leave, 8 enter and leave, leave one at a time, leave in in pairs and threes). I don't remember what was the number, but the scientist figured out what number this particular crow could count to. |

They exist. I know where they are. But the chances of getting them freed up is nil. |

Uncancelled R300 George C. Miller Andrews. Cancelled cards are tough enough. I've heard that only a few uncancelled examples exist. Maybe as few as two. |
