There are many T206's with various stamped letters on the backs. My theory is that the layered paper backs of T206's made for pretty good ink blotters in the early days. Someone with an ink stamp might test it, or clean ink off of it by using a small piece of cardboard. A piece of paper might bleed through. T206's were handy by the millions back then, so worked for this purpose. You see letters and initials quite often. Sometimes you see dates, such as from 1910 even. |
