In all of my research, I've seen nothing that sufficiently links Chase to the Scandal. Abe was a key figure in the plot. If you are looking for "fringe" players, you would probably want to look at Joe Gedeon. He bet on the series after talking with Risberg. A total of eleven players who appeared in the 1919 series were banned at some point by Landis. The "Eight Men Out" were banned for the fix; Dick Kerr, Heinie Groh, and Ray Fisher were banned for contract disputes. |
