Searching for Albert (Butts) Wagner photo
Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
Does anybody have an image of Albert (Butts) Wagner, he's Honus Wagner's older brother that played a bit for the 1898 Washington & Brooklyn teams. He played on several minor league teams during the early 20th century, there may be something in one of the Spalding Guides, but there wasn't in the ones I have access to. |

Tom, unfortunately I don't have the 1905 Guide & the 1905 it isn't one of the ones you can check look through online either. If anyone has a scan of the Providence team I would love to see it. |

Hes in the huge 1990 Dodgers Target set. Don't have the card to scan but this site has a low resolution image of it. |

Searching for Albert (Butts) Wagner photo

I have a Pirates cabinet photo from the 1910's with him on it. It is a photo from their traing in Arkansas. Unfortunately, I misplaced the sheet of paper I had that identifies each team member. Ironically, I am going to get this photo matted and framed, so I will be on the look out for the sheet. |

Okay, so the reason I asked this question is that Butts Wagner was on the 1897 Toronto team featured on this Cameo Pepsin pin. I have bllown up the image and am wondering if Butts (Honus's brother) is on here, it would add a bit to the item for me. The Manager on the team was Arthur Irwin (of Old Judge fame--also cool because the guy had 2 completly seperate wives/families that didn't know about the other until after his death--crazy story). Anyways, the guy over his left shoulder looks an awful lot like Honus witha mustache and am wondering if that is Butts or not. |

The guy dead center in the pin looks like a Wagner to me. |

Dan, that was my second guess, as that player looks the most like the crappy picture on the Target Dodgers card that was referenced earlier in the thread--complete with the big hair. I'm pretty sure that is Dinneen at top middle. |
