Liabilities can be held to follow assets if a court finds that the purchaser is merely a continuation of the seller or if a transaction is entered into fraudulently for the purpose of escaping liability for the sellers obligations. I have no idea if either circumstance would apply here, just trying to complete the statement of the law.
