Default British tobacco for trade

Posted By: Geno

Fred --

You were right about those guys knowing their stuff - no chance of a baseball card slipping under their noses! Nobody had any, but one guy mentioned he had a card at home that he was going to send me a scan of. I'm pretty sure he was describing the RJ Hill card that shows Tris Speaker(?). I picked one up last year and posted a scan on N54 to see what it was, though nobody was sure. The only thing anyone really knew was that the photo looked like Speaker. Anyway, hopefully he gets in touch with me. I'd post a scan of mine, but it is buried away at the moment...

I did pick up a couple cool hockey cards (generic, no players) from 1929 and 1935. They are from the same sets as the Ruth card - Sports and Games in Many Lands, one being Churchman and the other being Edwards, Ringer. The cards shows a town hockey game that looks like an old christmas card photo - definitely worth the pickup!

And I even found an Irish hurling card for Bob! All in all, good experience, but not really a need to return next month unless I happen to be in that area...

Take Care, Geno
