Vintage bat questions

Thanks John! I really appreciate the information! Anyone have any idea about telling the difference between "hand turned" bats and "machine turned" bats? Is there a simple way to tell? This is not in reference to this bat but I have always been curious about determining the difference (and what that difference means).
