I would be much more worried about mint or nrmt-mt pre-war cards than overprints.....but I am biased too

I would be much more worried about a complete run of E94 overprints than some nm or better pre-war cards. Producing a few stamps is a lot easier than turning vg corners into nm/mt corners. Trimming is pretty easy to detect these days.

I don't think the issue is whether or not most or all of the current ones that exist today are real.

I think the issue is whether or not one could reproduce an accurate overprint today or in the near future.
