Lee's observation about low starting price allows for bids that continually bump the item as bids are made.
I see that an auction with a high reserve could just be a glorified sale... I'd like to see as few restrictions as possible (and since Leon hails from Texas I think that's how it will be). After all, the owner / seller has the card, he should be able to set forth how he'll be selling his card. Any of you guys want folks here to tell you how you may and may not sell a card?? My auction of the Frank Isbell T206 has successfully concluded. 5 stars, nay 6 stars to Ed Woelfle. The auction closed at 10am CDT June 6, 2009. I had to wait 10 minutes for payment via Paypal (no, I didn't tack on a fee for him using that). I prepared an envelope, filled out a Deliv Conf receipt, and drove the package to the Post Office. Isbell was in the mail on his way to Ed by 10:50am, BEFORE window service closed. And Ed was notified via email of the Deliv Conf # by 11:05... 65 minutes. I'll defer to RobD and let him advise everyone as to whether I'm about to do another auction on Net54, and if so when. |

Golly, no need to defer to me, Frank. You do a fine job keeping everyone informed about your intentions and the day-to-day operations of your auctions.

Rob, I hope you never get into legal trouble in Kentucky.

I predict that if he ever travels to Kentucky, legal troubles will ensue.

Dan, Jim:
If you're correct, it would come as little surprise to me. In fact, the lady at AAA was puzzled why I wanted to plan a trip from Ohio to Tennessee by way of West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. |

In a Utopian world (and my preference) there would be exactly "0" rules set by the house. I guess I would probably say, if I were a participant and had to say 1 thing....it would be only to allow each member to have one current, ongoing auction at a time. That would be common courtesy (not aimed at you Jon, as you are one of the most courteous folks on the board) in my humble opinion. Otherwise someone could literally start 50 raw T206's individually at the same time. This board is not set up for that nor will it be.
That being said...... Lets shoot for 0 rules "from above" and see how that goes? Last edited by Leon; 06-06-2009 at 11:42 AM. Reason: typo |
