Girlfriend who won't try to change the channel when I'm watching college football.
A 1909 Obak Gandil would be nice, too. |

Nice thread. My white whale is relatively humble, but a serious pain in the butt to find: T206 Joe Tinker, bat off, American Beauty 460.

My white whale is PC760 Rose Co Niles as NYY. Couple other close ones, but this would be big big!

It would be interesting to find out how many white whales were found since this thread was started a decade ago.

I wonder if this is the first thread re-started after almost a full decade. Wow! I loved David's Mellville quote on August 8, 2009! =

A signed 1953 Topps Howie Fox. Also keeping an especially sharp eye out for Vern Stephens and Dizzy Trout. I was the underbidder on the Trout that Clean Sweep sold a couple years ago, and haven't seen one since. Likewise, I haven't yet seen a Fox or Stephens.

So i posted in 2009 a Boston Store Joe Jackson whichi got a
few years latter ironically now it is clear i need a low grade Boston Store Ruth. I have been builing this set for 10+ years and that is going to be the card. I have a few other tougher cards but the Ruth is the whale. James G

1933 Rittenhouse
Paul Waner and Lloyd Warner variations. I have 2 different Paul Warner and Lloyd Waner cards, but I have never seen the other spellings of each. They are listed in the SCD, but does anyone know if they really exist. |
