I will have to agree with your premise. I won two T206 graded lots in the recent Huggins and Scott auction that would have gone for crazy money three years back. Prices have also dropped on graded T205 and T201 cards as well (which is what I follow). So obviously, it is across the board on prewar cards. In my opinion, the post war cards are much more stable right now. Put a graded '67 Mantle on eBay and 9 out of 10 times you will hit VCP. Put a graded T206 Mathewson (or other comparable star card) and your odds of hitting VCP will be much lower.
