Why is the T200 New York AL so tough

Boston NL is by far the toughest card in the set, but NY AL is on the next tier (along with St Louis AL and NL)

The Boston NL was the final card in my set. Have seen 3 NY AL in the last year on ebay or at auction and was lucky enough to find a Boston NL at the National... first I have seen in a long while.

I also agree with Anthony.

Boston NLs is definitely this set's toughest card.

Followed by NY American and then a small step to the two St. Louis teams.


The rest of them are readily available.

Always felt the same "suck" reason for E90-1 Bos. Nat. cards.

A combination of these:

Fatima Cigarettes weren't as popular in New York in 1913.

Fewer fans for the team, relative to other teams, in 1913.

There are fewer T200s of the New York Americans, than some other teams.

Current demand for anything "Yankee" is disproportionate to that of other teams.

Not that they come up often (or at all), but does anyone know if the distribution of the T200 premiums is also skewed? The pop sample may not be big enough, but I think that I've only seen NY(N) more than once.

I have the Boston National from this set and with my T206 Boston National Super Set quest slowing to a crawl I am giving serious consideration to completing this set.

If anyone is interested would you rank the difficulty of the 16 cards in the set.

And given the fragile nature of these cards what would be a realistic grade range if you were looking to put together a mid to high end set?
