By the way, I examined the card briefly before we submitted it. The player is Ty Cobb, which rules out E97. It looks very much like a Clement Brothers example, except with the E93, E94 and E98 pose. The card is blank backed.

very cool james, sound like a sick card for your employer!
since you briefly handled it how is the paper stock compared to a normal e93/e94/e98? did sgc go the safe route and gave it an Authentic? also it'd be interesting to see the crop of cobb's photo...as there's a difference between e93/e98 and e94, maybe this card is something totally different. Quan,
The card has normal paper stock, is not hand cut and uses a full uncropped pose. I won't know if a technical grade was assigned until Monday. Our Auction Manager was in New Jersey today and simply told us the Cobb came back as an "E93 Black & White blank back". |

First off it sounds interesting. I am going to guess it's a printing abnormality from one of the sets that use that pose.....albeit they are each cropped differently. Can't wait to see a scan...

Is it just missing color ink from the production process? There was a sheet of E92 Nadja St Louis players that had no colors. There are plenty of T206 scraps with no colors, including the T206 Plank that was sold in the last Heritage auction. We have seen several E93 sheet with color but with no print on the back. I have never heard of a sheet of E93s that is missing all the colors though. A scan would be great if you have one.

Hmm, this sounds like a cool find. Looking forward to seeing it.
Wes, The T206s you're talking about are missing colors, but aren't black and white. They're yellow right? Never seen a black and white T206. Rob |

You should be able to distinguish between the E93, E94 and E98 by how much of Cobb's torso is showing. |
