As long as you're sifting through your Reds cards, can anybody confirm the existence of the card checklisted in the 1940 Cincinnati Reds Team Issue as
(35) in the Standard Catalog . . . "Debt of Gratitude to Wm. Koeh Co."?

Otherwise it gets de-listed.
Thank you Bob- I've been searching for any evidence of this card for years, and not only have never seen one but can't see anyway it could've existed.
Here's a full press sheet of the '40 W711-2 set

Default That sheet also calls into question . . .

some of the other the cards listed as #30-34. Seems the checklist may have doubled up on them. Do yo have scans of the back of the sheet in that area?

Bob- I've got the variations in single cards as well, if you need scans of those are bigger scans of the sheet let me know.
It seems pretty easy to see where they overprinted the variations on the 2nd print run. But I can't see where they would cut out a card and strip in the "debt of gratitude" card.
I've bought about a dozen complete sets and they seem pretty evenly split between the 2 sets of variation- if the "debt" card was in one press run or another it would seem to pop up at some point, and another card would be in shorter supply, but that has never happened. And the pops on the other cards are consistant, while the debt card has never been graded by either PSA or SGC.

Default 1948-49 Mabley and Carew Reds

Here are some Mabley and Carew photos from 1948 and 1949. The Johnny Vandermeer came with the envelope displayed. If anybody can tell me more about this set, I'd appreciate it. The players shown here are as follows: Vandermeer, Harry Walker, Herm Wehmeier, Ken Raffensberger and Howie Fox. I have a few more as well, and like Wehmeier and Fox, several others have images that were used in the 1950 Bowman set. They also have markings on the back that indicate they were produced by the Reds, just like the photos they issued for decades ...

This thread is great! Some really awesome stuff posted. Living just outside Cincy and being a Reds fan I have seen just about everything however there were a few that jumped out. That Frank Robinson Swift Meats popout was very interesting to pick out one.

I unfortunately don't have many pics currently but did find this scan just to have an offering...

Would like to add a Ted Kluszewski rookie psa 5-7 if anyone was looking to move one.

Great cards everyone. I really enjoy seeing everyone's collection. Here are a couple of minor league photos of Tony Perez and Johnny Bench that I picked up over the last 6 months. I'd like to find similar of Rose and Morgan if there are any.

I've always thought the Rose photo on his 64 Kahn's is terrific.

A bit late to the party, but:

There are 21 Reds in the set, and I have 15 here. The only one of any appreciable difficulty that I still need is Bud Podbielan, who died in 1982. I think the Reds will be the first team that I complete in this project.
