What is it with these New York teams ?

Riggins was a free spirit, so he sported a "Mohawk" haircut one year and the Jets front office lets him go.
Arguably, John was one of the best in the NFL running game.

It was like a hex on the Jets to release Riggins....what have they done since the mid-'70s ? ?

Similarly, Steinbrenner got bent out of shape when Don Mattingly sported a mini pony-tail hair style (circa 1993-94).
Mattingly was never the same again from the resulting stress.

As a Skins fan I say....Thank you New York.

He certainly is a free spirit and that has been evident this year with his verbal thrashing of the Redskins from top to bottom.

It would be interesting to have heard his take if it was as focused on the Jets this year as it has been the Skins.

Keeping the thread on topic: I will not be able to make the dinner.

Don't throw out a date just for me, why not pick a few dates and see who can make it. The date with the most people wins :-)

I would prefer mid week actually as it is easier for me to get away from the wife :-D

These NYC Dinner threads are hilarious! All I can think of when I read them are Abbott & Costello going thru their "Who's on First" routine!

Barry--I can also appreciate your frustration in trying to be the organizer!

Default Hey Tim

When Riggins went to the Redskins, I found a new team to root for. Anyhow, I always was a great Sonny Jurgensen fan,
and you had to love Mark Moseley's golden foot.

I still remember when Riggins carried 4 (or was it 5) Miami Dolphins defenders across the goal line in Washington's victory
in the 1983 Super Bowl.

Well, 50 posts in and we're about where I expected us to be...no time, no date, no place, and no idea who is coming. Some can only do weekends, some only weekdays, so I don't think we will get this together. Anybody have any suggestions?
