To be fair, Rob, it's not like you can find a T206 Marquard on Ebay every da....um....never mind.

What percentage of the time do you think a seller is offered fair value to close an auction? I periodically get offers on things and I politely decline them. When the auction concludes the final price is typically 2-3x the offer. So how often do sellers actually do the right thing by closing early?

I don't know how often, but I've had 3 experiences where the seller declined my offer and I've won it when the auction ended for less.

FWIW, There is a '33 Goudey Ruth auction in the BST that won't be closing early!

Love the Rube like my granpa, but a Ruth instead? hmmm

Ok, so a seller ends an auction early on me. It's a card I really wanted. I email him and tell him I'm unhappy (OK, so maybe I wasn't quite that delicate) and six months later I bid on one of his cards and find myself a blocked bidder. WTH

Default It's very simple .....

Seller ends auction early .....

I never entertain, or take any of his future offering's seriously.
