Default 1913 T200 Fatima question

A gentleman has come into my store with 19 Fatima cards. Here is a scan of the front and back of the Detroit card. My question is were these cards supposed to be thin and glossy. It does not say reprint anywhere on the card.

Thanks,

Paul

Looks good.

Yes, they are thin and glossy - basically photographic paper.

The one you posted is real. Are they all team cards, or some single player ones too?

Thin and glossy, and your scans have the typical-looking creases and stains. Nice image and pretty good centering as well. The reprints I've seen, if I recall correctly, have been thicker than the authentic T200s

from the scan they look real to me, the wear, cracking and staining are all consistant with my examples.

Paul- that's a pretty significant collection of them. Worth quite a bit too.

Do you guys think 2500 for the lot would be fair? I would rate them as 2's 3's and 4's. I would like to buy 10 of them for $1250.00 and send them to SGC and once they're slabbed, by the other 9 for the remainder. He got them from his grandmother who recently passed away. I'm meeting him tomorrow and will probably be posting more pictures at that time.

$2500 for 19 would be a steal, assuming there are some better teams in there. And there probably are.

Hey Barry,

I guess another dealer in the area offered him alot less. I want to be fair with this person so lets say he has 1 of each and doubles on a few, but not the high dollar ones. What would you pay for the collection?

Thanks again,

Paul

It's impossible to assess the collection sight unseen. The condition is so critical with Fatimas. I would certainly pay $2500 and if the keys were nice I would pay more. You are going to have make that decision yourself. If he is happy with the offer, then that's your number.

What you posted looks authentic.

If you have a black light handy, I'd shine that on the back side just to see if it fluoresces.

Fortunate find.

Are Cleveland, St. Louis and N.Y. Americans in the lot? If so, and the cards are decent, then jump on the lot!

A Boston National would be a nice find.
