About the blank back...it is probably actually just a completely off-center back where the part used was in between the real backs on the sheet--these pins are often found w/ very poor centering of the back paper.
The large letter versions aren't the biggest deal in the world but they do tend to be tougher than the smaller version of the same player. Don't try to remove the rust. -Rhett
