One of the bikes from the US team built for the team time trial in 1984. US finished 3rd. Not totally sure if this one was ridden, they built 12 and used 4.
The frame and fork are the only original parts, I made most of the rest since nearly everything is special and unavailable. Took me about 5 years to research what to make and get it done. It was originally labeled as a Raleigh, but was repainted and restickered for use in 1985 - original cost was pretty high, they claimed around 40K so they got a few years use out of it.

A really cool Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali handwritten letter discussing his upcoming trip to participate in the 1960 Rome Olympics:

He certainly is...albeit a stoned Olympian, he's still an Olympian.
I wouldn't be surprised if half the Snowboarders are as well, just not during the games of course.

My wife's great aunt was the flagbearer for Hungary at the '36 Olympics, and was part of their gymnastic team that won the bronze. I can't locate the image of her marching into the stadium in Berlin, but did find a picture of the team practicing.
The family was deported during the revolution in '56, but was able to bring out the medal and a few other small items.

Very neat, Anthony. A great heirloom and with monetary value.

Not Olympics, but I once bought for $10 a 1955 Russian track medal. Looking at it, my dad said "Isnt this for a World's Record?" I looked at it indeed was given to a Russian hurdler for setting a world's record. Resold it for $300. Owed my dad for that one.

Ok, so it's not memorabilia, but here's a shot of the torch from my office (with 200 mm telephoto)

And in case you missed Norway's pants in curling, here is a shot:

David

You have to move back here before you can share our pain; having an attack vicariously through your Canadian spouse doesn't count.

However, I am going to the BIG game tonight: Czech Republic vs Latvia. Do I cheer for Jagr's hair, or do I try and learn Latvian by tonight?
