For antiques, I consider them to be historical figures-- which will be good, bad and complex--, so will collect the perceived good and bad. Besides, the bad are often interesting.
It's different for modern players. For example, I won't collect ARod, Mark McGwire or Barry Bonds. Maybe in 100 years. It may be telling that my favorite old player is Ty Cobb (bad boy) and my favorite modern is Robin Yount (good boy). Last edited by drc; 03-18-2010 at 01:32 AM. |
