Bowman was originally known as Gum, Inc. and produced the Playball series from 1939 to 1941 but what does the 1936 refer to?

Right, exactly my question, and it is not a typo because they refer to 55 as being the 20th anniversary.

And Dave H or Ted Z needs to correct me if I wrong; refers to the founding of the Bowman company.

There must not be any Non-sports guys on the board. I am pretty sure the G-Men Non sports cards were issued in 1936 by Bowman. So, that could be the Anniversary they are referring to. Of course they do say Baseball cards, so not sure.
