I'm assuming that the PSA 8 Ty Cobb D304 that sold in Saturday's REA auction for $80,000 before the BP, was the same card that Goodwin sold about a year or so ago for $260,000.
Is this correct? Tony |

Yikes! According to VCP it's one in the same. How do you write-off $160,000??? Lovely Day... Correction.... the one in Goodwin sold for $272,980.00 with BP.... Double Yikes!!! Last edited by iggyman; 05-03-2010 at 06:38 PM. |

Did a board member end up getting lot number 297?
i was willing to go up to 15K.. and that was already more then I could afford... but 20K after the premium was too rich for my blood.. if the winner is a board member I would be interested in several pieces. Jamie |

This card sort of jumped out at me when I first browsed the auction online, but I figured that it would sell for more than I wanted to pay. When I woke up on the couch at 3:30 a.m. Sunday and saw what it was at, I decided to enter one bid and one bid only. Luckily it was the high bid, and just as fortunately, Jeff P. decided not to pull the trigger again. Even though it's not a Lajoe, I'm pretty thrilled to add a card to my collection that I never thought I would.

Tbob, I won the Speaker Blomes back you mentioned, along with the Wagner Blomes back, the 4 Clement bros. major leaguers, lot 173 mixed pre-war, and lot 326 t205s with 3 Mattys and 22 caramel cards. Underbidder on a few including the e97 set. Now have to hijack liquor truck to pay for this.

Don't worry, Jim, there are actually other people in the hobby that are concerned about some of the funny stuff that goes on in auctions. But I promise not to make any more trouble because I don't want to make you sad, ok?
Edited to add: And it actually sold for 273K. Sorry!
