I'm not an expert, but when I was in the museum last year every single signed ball looked to me to be stamped. I didn't think any of them were actually signed.

None of the vintage stuff belongs to the Yankees. It's all loaned.

Ok so I'm a Sox fan. But I think the light up sign was a very cool idea, and if the getting in trouble didn't involve police or being tossed out was probably well worth it.

It they had the same thing at Fenway I'd probaly use a simiar message.

I know it's all for the best, but the teams making things too "family friendly" Takes a bit of the edge off the rivalry. The fans are even too nice to the other team these days. I recall seeing a rookie Yankees player go into the stands after a ball at Fenway and exiting the mob without the ball. Also without his hat and glove, and nearly without his jersey. Umps and security got the glove back, but not the hat. And likewise the Sox players knew to keep clear of the crowds at Yankee Stadium.

Hey Steve..

Yea thanks.. I thought it was a funny idea. I just got scolded by one of the guards. Then they were giving me the stair down until I left the museum. All in good fun though. A bunch familys around thought it was funny too and wanted to take pics with that sign.
So no major trouble.

Jamie

great stuff, Jamie, thanks for posting...i'm going to the game thursday also...then i'll be at Fenway saturday (first ever game for me, there).

i own the home plate used 9/18/08, so it's cool to see the 9/21/08 plate on display there (was also used on opening day 2009).

p.s. the Ruth & Gehrig jerseys are off the charts.
