He was a charitable person, no doubt. I'll remember him for that.
But as far as baseball goes, he was a complete ass. When he was held in check by others, his money enabled winning teams. But left to his own devices, he was an unmitigated disaster. And for abandoning Yankee Stadium to its inevitable destruction (after the Boss "borrowed" the parkland, it had to be returned) I cannot forgive him.
