Matt-I was responding to Steve's second post in this thread. I am well aware of what went on with Legendary in the past. My point is that they seem to be rebuilding their reputation, and the quality of their auctions reflects this.

Obviously consignors weren't scared off for long. The postcards in this upcoming auction are incredible.

A little shill bidding amongst friends is perfectly acceptable behavior. Heck, from a sellers perspective, I would say that would be an incentive to consign. Alright, nothing to see here, move along...move along....

Actually Matt, I wasn't going to bid. I have zero confidence in the Legendary hierarchy. Just wanted a couple of scans for my album.

Steve was speaking as a bidder, not as a consignor - as a bidder, the issues had/have nothing to do with the selection they offered.

Mastro's good reputation was based solely on them delivering eye-popping prices to consignors. A criminal investigation of their shill bidding and other fraudulent practices appears to be providing a basis for that well-earned reputation. Crack dealers have good reputations with their customers too as long as they deliver the product; doesn't mean that no laws were broken in the process.

Jeff,
I bought my T206 Plank in a Mastro auction back in April 2007. What can I do to find out how much it was shilled so I can get some money back? Thanks!
