While the picture thing is frustrating, if you are looking for commons to finish sets they have the inventory. I've never tried to buy a high-end card from them, but I understand why they don't do scans. They sometimes have hundreds of each common. To scan all those wouldn't be worth the time. The times that I've gotten poor condition cards in the mail from them I've emailed and they quickly sent me replacements.
