All the information posted on this thread is from the H Book of Harvard Athletics, published in 1922. There's a photo for nearly every year...but not 1872.

Staying with the 19c collegiate baseball topic, I would really appreciate if anyone could post images of Yale nines from 1877 to 1879.

I have individual cabinet photos, but not the team photos unfortunately.

I have tried to buy the Harvard H book a couple of times but always lost out. I guess I will need to make sure I pick one up now.

That's tougher. Harvard, Princeton, and Dartmouth all published books which detailed the athletic histories of their teams with pictures and text. Yale, I believe, did not.

Barry, there's a book called A history of Yale athletics, 1840-1888 by Richard Hurd, but not as illustrated as the 'H' book.

I'm trying to ID the players pictured in this cabinet. I'm leaning towards 1878 or 1879.

Sorry for the crappy pic, but the albumen print size is 16.25 x 12.5 inches... too big for my scanner.

Photograph is by William Notman

Jimmy -

The images you seek may be hanging on the wall at Mory's in New Haven.
