Is that some ghosting on the front, of a piedmont or tolstoi style back, or just an artifact from the scan? Most evident in the upper-right quadrant. Could add to its value for those who seek such oddities.

I guess it's ghosting (appropriate for the Halloween season, eh?) and is not from the scan

It's definitely a wet print transfer. Happened when the sheets of freshly printed cards were place one on top of the other before they dried. You get the reverse image of the back on the front.
