Newbie questions, T206!

I would recommend you get your hands on the audio recordings of The Glory of Their Times, so you can actually hear the T206ers talking about their playing days. It really helps make the connection between cardboard and life. (That connection is one of the primary reasons I collect autographed T206 cards.)

There are many ways to collect T206 cards -- almost as many ways as cards themselves -- just remember to have fun!

Hey everybody, THANKS for the great info!

I love the framing ideas, especially the first link. I also signed up for VCP which has been very useful. And, I just ordered Glory of Their Times. Those pricing guidelines are real useful.

Finally, I live in Essex County, NJ. I'd love to hook up if anyone else is local.

i actually have framed both graded and raw.
sometimes it is a bit of overkill as i'm trying to protect some of my favs, e.g.
my cobb bat off is graded(encapsulated) and framed.
i have found a framer who has been quite gracious to me in both offering much time and fair pricing, perhaps in part because i've provided him with so much business the last 2-3 years.

I've learned a lot in the past few weeks, largely thanks to the people on this forum. Thank you!

And in particular, I wanted to mention how wonderful Glory of their Times is. What a great audiobook and really helped me appreciate the era and helped me understand why I love these cards so much. I recommend this to all, and particularly my fellow newbies!

Are the recording posted anywhere on the internet for free download?

Sorry - can't help you there! I got mine from audible.com for about $15 for a 5 hour listen. Really great if you can swing it.

Thanks for the recommendation of The Glory of their Times. I just bought the book, which was an awesome read. Im dying to pick the audio tapes of it which I plan on getting in the next month. Are there any other great books on the deadball era that are must reads? Happy New Year everyone!

I liked the heck out of Crazy '08. Read like a novel you couldn't put down and really brought out the personalities of the deadball players. Kind of like a prequel to TGOTT.

I am going to 2nd the vote for Crazy '08. Great book - I am totally hooked by it.

Any other suggestions?
