Jeez, I didn't even realize it was ending. I just got my catalog a couple days ago. They had some neat boxing items in there. |

Mark: Nice pick-up on the Pop Lloyd! I went after 4 of the Negro League items but prices were extremely strong IMHO. I guess this auction house is no longer a secret anymore. My guess is that possibly the same Negro League collector (with very deep pockets) picked up the majority of the major pieces in this auction. I could not believe the 25th Intantry panorama that sold for $31K with the juice. Also, the Indianapolis team photo went for an extremely high price as well as the Cienfuegos postcard. The other item that I liked was the TG Album in beautiful condition and probably a fair price based on that. Oh well, 0-for-4 on this one........... |

Yep, 0 - 4 for me too, Phil! Charleston, Torriente, Cienfuegos PC, and the Rube Foster/ I. E. Taylor PC. Couldn't believe how high some of the team photos went also (all over 10K with the juice)!!! I need a better job. Oh and yes, nice Lloyd, Mark!! Last edited by triwak; 02-02-2011 at 03:33 PM. |

Ken: I was hoping that it was you who picked up the Cienfuegos postcard, you've been looking for a Bell & Wells item for a while now......... |

Pretty sure I was the underbidder on that. Figured with all the writing on it, I could easily snag it for 2-3K. I'm thinking your theory about one very wealthy collector may be correct. (sigh) The quest continues...
