I think there is always a '52 Mantle availible. It just seems like 707 has alot of them because he doesn't sell them very often.

I don't know if they still do but there used to be a person or family in Madison, Indiana who bought every Goudey card of Tommy Thevenow they could get their hands on. They were relatives of Thevenow and who knows how many cards they had/have.

I assume most collectors hoard one particular card because of intense interest in that card, as in example above.

I hoard certain cards. But its what I like. Has nothing to do with money just what I like. If it forces the price up then so be it
