Anybody who cares about the breaking of the color barrier by Jackie Robinson or who covets a Satchell Paige baseball card or who is interested in either vintage baseball beyond the confines of the big leagues or pre-Civil Rights America would do well to read this article that Brian has posted. It is an important story and a terrific read.
