Question about this picture or more directly, the bat Babe is carrying. Does that knob have a notch out of it or is that something on the photo itself? I know it sounds odd to even ask but given todays players, an imperfection on the knob with a chunck missing would cause the bat to be discarded. I was kinda curious to see this especially in a Ruth bat.

I'll betcha Jimmy would like to find that Ruth bat with the piece of the knob missing as his ultimate Big Bam companion piece!!

After looking through a pair of 10x goggles, it doesn't look like a chunk out of the knob at all. It appears to be a white dot that was on the negative not the bat. The scratch that you see to the right of Babe is also from the negative and not on the photo itself. The way that Babe griped his bats, all the way down to the knob, I couldn't see him feeling comfortable it there was a notch in the knob.

Didn't want to let this thread die, as I believe people are holding back. I know there's a lot more great Bambino stuff out there. Let's see if we can give this one some "legs" (as it deserved more traction than it got!)
