In 1979 I picked up 2 scrap books full of N 172 and N 173 cards plus a 3rd bound scrap book full of non sport N cards. My favorite piece was a schedule from the 1888 Boston Nationals, although it's value is/was a fraction of the value of the cards!
In the mid 1980's through a relative I was introduced to a couple that sold me a large holding of 1952 Topps loaded with mint high numbers. Also in the group were a hundred or so crisp mint 1953 Bowman Color cards. Recently, my Aunt sold me a bunch of 1980's factory sets! I felt obligated to buy them considering she led me to the above 50's find! I wish I had a video of the 1880's scrap books! Happy Holidays, Bill Hedin |
