1933 Goudey Advice

Guys, Thanks for all the info and help. All the cards look AWESOME. These are truly some of the most beatiful cards. I think SGC 50 maybe the way to go, cards really pop with the black inserts. Althought all the grades looked great, I may well end up with the Big Boys in SGC 30, till money permits... I know this is a rookie question, but what is the difference with the ones without, the BIG LEAGUE CHEWING GUM in red banner? Were they produced later in the design run or is it just to be different.... Thanks again, look forward to seeing some more, and showing some off soon!!! Ralph

Ralph - the 1933 Goudey set is one of the greatest. Have fun putting it together!

In case you are interested in assembling a master set, there are two variations that I know of: #6 Jimmy Dykes - there are two versions, one that lists his age as 26 and one that list his age as 36; and #47 Heinie Manush - there are two versions, one with a fence in the background and one without. Does anyone know of any other variations?

Keith, I didn't know these existed, I am a pure newbie in this set. Does either one of those variations add a premium? Any others out there to be on the lookout for? Thx guys!!!

Ralph - I'm not aware of either variation carrying a premium, but I'll defer to the '33 Goudey experts for a definitive answer.
