Anyone see that Munson Auto on Mile High?

Good point Todd. Thurman passed on 8/2/1979 so there wasnt a large window of time to get the signature on the card before his passing.

A 1974-90 Topps Baseball Complete Signed Set Run sold a few months back for $80K and that collection included 4 different signed Munsons including a 1979 version.

Almost $18K for this card has to be a record setter

is there a modern and vintage concept in autograph like there is in cards? 18k for a 1978 topps psa10 checklist sounds absurd, by apply that to a t206 drum and it's downright reasonable...

18k for the munson sounds absurd to me.

That price is utterly Ridiculous. My favorite player that I ever watched play, and its still RIDICULOUS. He didn't die till August either, so there were a few months after the cards came out for it to be signed. Makes me wish I still had the stub signed from a month before he died still. Could probably get someone to way overpay for that too.

Once it hit $5k+ I was thinking wow, but once it hit $15k I was shocked. He's not even a top 3 catcher of all time. Sure he was good, but not $18k good for a '79 topps card.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but how do you certify an autograph of someone like this?
