This was my first time participating in the Clean Sweep auction and I was very excited when I grabbed the t206 Lajoie for well below what I expected to pay... then I got the invoice... and realized that with the buyer's premium, shipping and insurance the card wasn't quite the bargain I thought and was quite relieved I didn't win the Cy Young. That being said I thought many of the cards went for about what they would go for on eBay which is surprising considering you have to pay an additional 17.5% buyers premium and $7-10 S&H. And why can you only pay by check or money order?

It was my first Clean Sweep as well. I was quite happy that the auction listings (at least the ones I bid on) had an estimated shipping amount quoted. The BP is listed in the rules... you just have to be aware of the total cost when making your bids.

I've noticed that many of the same cards (that I would buy) from an auction house yield greater returns than eBay. I would guess the reason is simply that many of the auction house winners don't buy on eBay.

Erik - I've followed that set registry link of yours a few times, and can never get it to scroll through the list.

Also, have you ever asked them to put '2 names' on the slip?

My links are just to my set registry at SGC. Scroll wheel on your mouse sometimes moves through the images (BTW I will be rescanning all of them this weekend).

Never thought about asking them to be slabbed differently. I recall seeing some GAI (I think) slabs with that notation.
