I was thinking about mentioning the same thing. Possibly one in the spring and the other in the fall.

From the information in the thread [ http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...=114661&page=2 ] to which Rob D. (post #7) provided a link, it seems like floorspace is a primary criterion -- minimum 300,000 square feet, ideally 400,000+. That is some serious acreage. Really, how many towns have a convention center or exhibition hall of that size?

That was their old thinking. As I mentioned, I have now heard that they started limiting the number of dealers for the National SO THAT THEY WILL be able to have a slightly smaller National in different cities. Many cities definately have a venue that now can able to hold a little smaller National.

here in minneapolis they have over 400,000 square feet. i agree it seems like many venues have enough square feet but won't be considered to host the convention?

Denver's Convention Center might fit into this category too. I attended a convention there 2 years ago. They've done a really great job on the remodel and have added a lot of square footage. Ther rumer is that they want their square footage to rival Las Vegas as a venue. Downtown Denver is very cool and the Colorado Rockies are nearby as well... Not a great team, but certainly a great ballpark to visit if ever in the mile high city.
