just a follow-up to the 1955 Ben Hogan 4x5 negative.....
I emailed the eBay seller asking if he had any additional information about the image (course, tournament, etc.). He mentioned it was from Hogan's match with Jack Fleck. The year (1955), the opponent (Jack Fleck), and the source of the image (California newspaper) - would all put this image at the 1955 US Open. Possibly during the playoff round where Hogan lost the US Open to Jack Fleck.

a few great postcard pickups.....
1904 Harry Vardon postcard - Wrench Series (postally unused)  1904 - Balfour and Old Tom Morris - Wrench Series (postally used in 1904)  1904 - Old Tom Morris..... Postally used in 1904. This one has awesome golf content on the back (and I didn't even see the back in the auction listing). It reads: "Tom Morris is well over 80 years of age and in his early days was the Golf Champion. He now looks after the course & is a fine (hale?) old man. This picture is exceedingly like him. PPR"
