http://www.bluekey.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_%26_Keys ![]() There was a Blue Key Honor Society..their logo has the date 1924. But more likely there was a Skull and Keys Fraternity founded in 1892 at University of California Berkeley. There school colors are dark blue and gold....now about that small token of appreciation....How bout that Cy Young tin...yeah that'll work.. Yes I can see the material is like a wool...mine isn't velvet or anything...just plain cloth that looks like it was heavy cloth back in the day but now worn thin cloth... ![]() We all know these hat aren't called boaters for nothing....That is I know they were worn for baseball and rowing...and I believe other sports may have worn them...Mine for instance...it's in my baseball things because baseball players wore them....but there's no way to know for sure if a baseball player wore it...Now if someone had a complete uniform with a matching boater!!!! But boaters are so rare, as a matter of being practical we have to just be happy to get one that looks collegiate...mine has the Victorian monogram, yourn a fraternal key emblem....Now that one Corey had that sold....phew...I think it was Univ of Chicago ![]()

Thanks Carlton!
That's some good information. Not sure if either one applies to the Key logo, but the Berkeley connection is a slight possibility. That article and photo you linked is amazing. Interesting to see that Berkely was a goofy kind of place even back in the day. Those are some "interesting" looking characters, and I think I even spotted a few Pot plants growing around their love shack! Thanks much for the info, and hope to see you in Baltimore this summer?
