highest value slab you've cracked?

Cracked a PSA 4 Demmitt, St. Louis and a BVG 2 Magie for the sole reason of putting them in my album set. The pages are only big enough for the card. The Demmitt was $3600 and The magie was around $9000. Just do it.

I have done very well sending in PSA slabbed cards to SGC for crossover. My best example was a PSA 4 T206 Cobb Bat On Shoulder with weak corners but otherwise clean than SGC put in an SGC 60 holder. In my view, SGC at least is not persuaded by the number on the PSA holder and will give your card a fair shake either way.

my experience is the same and they're the only company i would do this with (leaving card in other tpg's holder for review)

congratulations, yes, just do it. don't let anyone tell you how you should have your cards. if i had a t206 wagner i would bust it out. wonder if anyone has busted one out to keep raw. (not just to reholder in a different companies slab).

Actually the Magie was BVG, so I didn't crack it. I sawed the bottom off with a hacksaw and used a flat screw driver to pry it open. I hate BVG holders. I am pretty sure any company would give it a 2 so had no problem with opening it.

I can break out a PSA or SGC holder with my ol' oyster knife and hammer tap. BUT those BVG holders, oh boy, yeah, a hacksaw and pliers work, but a welders torch is probably the best way to go


Once cracked a T207 Saier PSA 2, reholder it for sale and got a SGC 40.
Also a PSA 1 E107 common (forget who), and sold raw.


I hate to admit it, but I once cracked out a "Nagy Collection" card (E77 Al Kaufmann) it was a 3 or 4.
