Nice piece, Scott!
Doerr's signature is still fluid and gorgeous. And I'm very glad it is. Graig

Found this neat Babe Ruth Rookie Year 1914 Boston Americans Schedule by Waitt & Bond Blackstone Cigars, Boston, Mass. which includes his 1st major league appearance.
From BR: "Ruth made his first Major League appearance on July 11, 1914, less than five months after leaving St. Mary's. He was credited with a 4-3 win over Cleveland(and Shoeless Joe Jackson). However, he did not pitch much over the next few weeks and on August 18th was sent down to the minor league Providence Grays who were in a fight for the International League pennant. " It's neat because it's made out of the same material the old baseball cards were made of (um cardboard). about 3x6". (4 sides). My rookie Ruth so to speak.

Great schedule, Paul - 1914 combines the rookie year of Ruth with the Miracle year for the Braves a couple of miles away - what a year to be a baseball fan in Boston!
