We need a new rule on this thread. Anytime you post a bookcase photo with books you must also post closeups. Bibliophiles like me need to see the titles!

I truly am impressed with everyone's collections and displays...in most cases, I find myself left speechless. Congrats to all!!

Given our current situations, I did some quarantine cleaning today and tidied up the room that houses my collection...here are some pics.

My best to all of you and your families.

I know this was originally posted over six months ago, but I am catching up on this thread. I think this is my favorite room/display. It is so awesome, so overwhelming, I can't even put my finger on exactly what "it" is, but...well...just incredible. It looks like the kind of place I would want to be. Are any of those boxes empty and simply display, or are they all full of unopened material? Thanks for sharing this.

So I have a question. It is about binders in which folks put 9 pocket sheets with cards. I see them on shelves sitting on end. How does one do this without the pages sagging/drooping down, thus causing damage to some cards?

I am beginning work on my cave and hope to be able to begin to start matching some of the awesome displays I am seeing here. They are quite impressive. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.

Default NFL HOF QB Room

I know we're probably supposed to be talking baseball, but thought since football is coming soon I'd share my football room.

This room is dedicated to NFL HOF QB's, but I do have some memorabilia of other players (L Taylor, B Sanders, Sayers, etc.).

Actually I would suggest that storing cards in a binder in 9/12/whatever pages sitting upright on the shelf might pose a problem down the road as gravity puts pressure on the cards at the lowest points causing the sheets and possibly the cards to curve. Not a huge concern but something to be aware of if it's to sit over an extended period of time....

Great pics everyone!

John - The last things I expect to see in the home of a California collector are hockey items.

Asked for a display case, wife purchased and stored in June 2018.
She built it with my kids just this last week for me to use.

My Honyack is from Fresno, though she won't admit it...

Great Kings items! I wish I had a souvenir from my first LA Kings hockey game in 1968, I was 7. Like maybe and ear?

Réal" Frenchy" Lemiuex had his ear slashed off & I remember the ref skating over and picking it up with a towel and giving it to the trainer. They stitched it back on between periods and Frenchy was back out there with tape for an ear. I was HOOKED!

Bob, you’re supposed to show pictures of your room not pics from a museum. Wow gorgeous items. That Cy Young box and the Walter Johnson tuxedo are my favorites.

Crazy cool stuff, Bob. Do you know if any of the other Tuxedo broadside subjects besides Matty had a box? (like you-know-who!)

The only other box that I am aware of is Hank Gowdy. I had a chance to buy one a few years ago but passed on it when it got to $4k.

There is no Johnson tuxedo box that I am aware of. I have the Tuxedo Johnson sign (and in my opinion the best looking one) of course. But no box that I know of. Thanks

Yes, your WaJo looks awesome. Was that Kent Feddeman's from a Legendary auction about 10 years ago, do you know? Do you have a Gowdy broadside? That would make a complete set, right, to go with your McGraw, Matty, and Walter?

Bob:

Impossible for me to pick just one (or even a top 10 for that matter...)

That's the first time I've seen the Pirates Bat Fan on display. Really love the way you fanned it out and shadow-boxed it. So classy! That one could be my favorite (for the next 5 minutes, anyway).

Incredible stuff!

Come on guys, the Reach sign, really?

That multi-piece Winchester action shot is beyond amazing.

Great room, looks awesome! I really like those racks you have on each side of the fireplace. I am planning on picking up a couple like that next month, do you remember what brand they are, and would you recommend them?
Thanks,
Mike.

Welcome! You're not the only one who has those problems, but I'm not sure why that is. If my photos are "right" when I upload them, them come out "right."

This happens because the pictures you took are actually sideways, but the software in your phone or camera is rotating them to look "correct" for you. The images themselves have a piece of data called an EXIF tag, specifically, Orientation. This data is used to set the 0,0 point of a photo to a certain corner, so that it displays properly in any software that supports that tag. Unfortunately, this is still relatively new thing and there are still many websites that either do not read photo metadata, or strip that data when you upload the file because it actually does an image conversion.

Did you get that, perezfan?

Well, I read it, but that doesn't mean I got it (or know how to fix it).

It's way too late at night for words that big.

The one constant I have noticed is that if I take the photo in "horizontal" mode, it always posts perfectly. If I take the photo in "vertical" mode, it always posts sideways (no matter the amount of editing, rotating or tinkering I devote to it).

(Doh! Not sure why photos are all sideways! Anyone have a tip on how to manage the orientation of the photos?)
Welcome!
And great displays! They're done very attractively.

New addition to my memorabilia room / office. Realized I needed some bright colors to punch the room up a little. Bought this 1/1 Ernie Banks in the Negro League art auction. Done by Blake Jamieson, the artist who has done a lot of the Topps 2020 cards. Really happy with it. Beautiful piece. (2' x 2')

Brendan, big or small those photos depict a kick-ass room. I'd love to see some close-ups of some of those walls...damn, I think I need a cigarette. LOL
