Default Neat item TTM

I was in Japan for a 3 week vacation this summer. I went to the Japanese baseball hof in Tokyo. On the way out I saw they were selling some HOF postcards of maybe 20 of the players. Being a HOF plaque collector I bought 2 guys I was familiar with that I had a chance of contacting. One is Shingo Takatsu the former White Sox pitcher who now manages the Yakult Swallows. I sent it to him c/o the team with enough $ to cover postage. Today 2 months later this arrived signed beautifully in kanji and English. My first japanese hof plaque signed. Does anyone know how to contact some of the other retired players? I sent my Matsui plaque (other one I bought) to a private signing and awaiting its return

Very cool! I had no idea the Japanese HOF had postcards similar to the ones from Cooperstown.

I would check the coaching staff and front office personnel of each of the teams. It is likely that a hall of famer is going to be associated with the team in some capacity. Sadaharu Oh coached the Yomuri Giants for a number of years. I wonder if there are cards shows in Japan. I had always hoped that a promoter would bring in Oh for a signing with Aaron. That would have been a sellout. Oh is the President/Chairman of the Softbank Hawks. These two might be a little easier -

Personally, the Japanese version blows our hof plaques away. That card pops!
