Default Lionel Carter Collection: Got Some?

Posted By: Jason L

I was thinking that perhaps this might be an interesting survey to take, and as always, you are free to tell me to get stuffed, or ignore me entirely!

Given all the recent attention given to Lionel Carter and his collection, as well as the recent (and continuing) auctioning of his life's work, it would be neat to see how much of his collection has made it into our collective, friendly hands...and if it will see the light of day again soon.

Please respond with:
1) How many Lionel Carter Collection items you have acquired (you need not state the item if you don't wish to), and
2) Is your current intent to hold it as long as Lionel did? (or trade/sell within the next 5 years?)

Paul, feel free to show us that Plank again!

I'll start:
4 T207 Cubs cards, and as far as I can tell they are part of the permanent collection for the next 50 years...here's one:

I'll be holding this for quite some time unless I package it with my beater Magie and cash for a beater Wagner some time down the line, if Plank and Magie catch up a little with Wagner, which will probably never happen...

So far I have an E94 Byrnes courtesy of ockday, the last two Tattoo Orbits I needed (Alexander and Haines) and some others I am currently bidding on. I plan on keeping them as long as I live, they are special...

1 for me- I've been looking for this card for years, it's my assistants uncle. I've got his '41 Cards team issue and now this, just have to find his Worch Cigar and I think that is it.

Unlike Anthony, I went on the cheap and lowballed about 40
of the Carter WWG's, and won 10 in the process, even w/ shipping
the 10 cost under $300.
The card set reminds me more of mug shots then baseball cards
but I'm proud to own em.
