Default Lets talk a bit about the R321 AKA 1935 Goudey 4 in 1

I am intrested in learning more about this set. How was this set distributed in the mid 30's? Was it distributed nationwide or was it a regional issue. Does anyone have a picture of the wax pack these cards came in? How many cards were in the wax pack?

It seems like this set looks like Goudey recycled some pictures from their 33' Goudey set.

I know the reverse are like a puzzle once all 36 cards are put together they create a picture of an individual player or a team photo. The "master set" consists of 114 front/back combinations.

I know I asked a lot of questions about this set but this Goudey issue has always intrested me. Is it safe to assume this set and the '36 set are more obscure then their other mainstream sets? I hardly ever see anybody talking about this set. Thanks in advance.

Default 35G 4 in 1

Hi Edward, I don't have any technical information to your questions. I am collecting the master set and can tell you it is a nice challenge; more of availability than of cost. Also on the upside, the cost is not that terrible. As I am sure you know, the four Ruths are the only real expensive pieces in the whole master set and they can be had around 400 - 500 dolars in vg condition. Again, sorry I have no research info for you other than it is a pleasant endeavor; good hunting,
jim

I don't think this set is any more obscure than the Goudey sets that preceeded it, but I don't think it's nearly as widely regarded as '33 or '34 (nor the '38 issue) and certainly not as collected.
The cards were issued in packs, a wrapper is below

Both SCP and Legendary have had point of purchase displays for this set in recent auctions, and uncut panels showing the entire back puzzle are not uncommon, coming up every year or so.

edited to add POP display and uncut panels

unique and most illumunative re: the question asked.
i have but one for my type collection but must admit that folks often ask

element!!!
