Help identifying a baseball

I was cleaning out my aunts garage, I found this as well as some old bats, gloves and other stuff I'm pretty familiar with. My aunt was married to a fella who worked in the Giants organization back in the 50's, and she gave me a signed Willie Mays ball as well. Now I've got two (I got another one from a security guard in Menlo Park!) I'll never part with those.

But here's the ball I'd like to know more about.

i would think just a generic 50s ball.

I was wondering what the significance of "No 10" was. It also appears to be mud rubbed. As I have a pretty decent collection of balls from many eras, this one has been the one thats puzzles everyone.

"No. 10" is just the model number for that particular baseball. Just like Spalding's Official National League Ball is "No. 1" and the Spalding Babe Ruth HR Special is "No. 3RC". Its just their way of labeling the ball.

Your ball appears to be a sporting goods store ball, like a MacGregor or Wilson or Harwood ball. It was not used in any type of Professional league play.
