I just heard that Virgil Trucks died. My father used to tell me that he was one of the hardest throwers that he saw when he was young ( though not as fast as Feller). I wonder if some of our older board members could share some personal memories of Trucks?

I was fortunate to meet him. A really classy guy. RIP Mr. Trucks.

He was, at the time, the 8th oldest living player. There are only ten pre-WWII players still alive now. Such a shame

Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history.
