1952 Topps low # partial set 277/310 + #311 Mantle
Offering the lot here before eBay. $7200 delivered PP gift, check, or MO. Included is a very attractive clean 1952 Topps Low # near set of 277/310 + high #311 Mickey Mantle. The set is VG overall and ranges from G-VGEX with less than 2% below G and less than 5% above VG+. The backs are clean with the exception of 1 that has small amount of paper loss. There are some low # black backs and some stars, HOFers, non-commons etc. As for the #311 1952 Mantle.....The card had the teal background colored in many years ago with a pastel blue. Since then, a previous owner of the card looks like they tried to maybe soak the card or remove the pastel giving the front some wear on the background and the borders. The image of Mantle remains strong and well preserved. The back of the card is clean and fine. There are no creases and the card is correct in size (not trimmed) with dead-centering and no tilt which is unheard of on this card. The card is 100% original just altered. A very reasonable way to get a more attractive Mantle for a modest set. I will say that the card was sent to PSA for grading years ago and returned with them stating that too much color was added. I have not tried to submit since. It would reside appropriately in an AUT holder or look good raw in a folder. Cards is sold with set AS-IS but gauranteed 100% authentic and full sized.
