| W517 Ruth with Piercy's Confectionery stamp

I was walking around the National looking for nuggets of gold when I happened upon Larrie Dean's (hi Larrie) large set up. Larrie greeted me and showed me a card I had seen at the last National, which he knows I had an interest in. WE negotiated a little bit and I asked if it would be ok to have a few friends look at it before I bought it, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I took it to a few friends for a look and they thought as I did, that it was fine (there is very obvious trimming making it affordable for me ). I went back and paid the man and added another back stamped card to the growing collection. I hadn't seen this one before so figured a thread with W517s was fine. If anyone has any they want to show this is the time to dust them off......

Just reminds me that w517s seem like they are among most under-valued given look, players, tints, and great size...

Wow, Piercy's really carried it ALL. That is a true one stop shop. No W517s in my collection but they were on the cover of The Trader Speaks in February 1978: http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...-offers-value/ |

Leon, very neat back stamp, one I had never seen before! ... for some reason I have a strong desire for some fresh roasted peanuts!
